LEARN HOW TO TAKE CARE OF YOUR LOVED ONES
Because your sparkle is such an important piece of jewellery proper jewellery care should be top priority. Wear your jewellery with care. Store it in padded boxes or soft bags separate from other jewellery. We know you love your jewellery but don´t wear them when you´re doing rough work or going to the gym. Most of our rings are very delicate and might be dented if not handled with care.
WHITE AND COLOURED DIAMONDS CARE GUIDE
Diamond is the hardest natural substance on Earth. It can cut any kind of rock or metal, but only another diamond can cut a diamond. The diamond can still be scratched by other objects or damaged by chemicals. So how can you keep your diamond looking its very best? Here are some tips on keeping your diamond sparkling.
HANDLE YOUR DIAMOND SPARINGLY
Try not to touch the diamond. Diamonds are natural magnets for grease, so they’re not easy to keep clean. When a diamond is handled, the oils from your fingers adhere to the diamond’s surface and affect its brilliance and fire.
CLEAN YOUR DIAMOND REGULARLY
No matter what you do, your diamonds needs cleaning from time to time. A simple plan to keep your diamond jewelry looking beautiful is to soak it in a gentle degreasing solution, such as water with a few drops of mild dish soap, once or twice a week. After you remove the diamond from the cleaning solution, use a soft clean toothbrush to remove any remaining dirt. The toothbrush should be new and reserved exclusively for cleaning your jewelry. Use it to clean hard-to-reach places like the back of the diamond, which tends to collect the most oil and dirt. At least once a year take your diamonds to an expert jeweler to get it properly steamed clean. Your jewellery can look a bit worn with time and wear, but you can make it look brand new again by have it rhodium plated at your jeweler.
KEEP AWAY FROM CHEMICALS
Exposure to chemicals can damage or discolor precious metals as gold, silver and platinum and may harm some colored gemstones. Even everyday substances like hairspray, lotion, perfume or other cosmetics can contain chemicals that will permanently damage the surface of your gemstones. Fine jewellery should be removed before diving into a chlorinated swimming pool or before using household cleaners. Many of these cleaners contain ammonia, which can be too harsh for delicate gems or vintage jewelry. Chlorine bleach, another common household solvent, can pit or damage gold alloys.
EMERALDS AND SAPPHIRES CARE GUIDE
Gemstones are sensitive so you need to take good care of them. Light and heat can damage the gems, over time they can also fade. Exposure to chemicals can damage both the gold and the gemstones. Even everyday substances like hairspray, lotion, perfume or other cosmetics can contain chemicals that will permanently damage the surface of your gems.
Using warm, soapy water coupled with gentle scrubbing is the safest way to clean emeralds.
Measure your wrist with a measurement tape to decide a suitable circumference in cm of your bracelet. Make sure to not make it too tight so it hugs the arm and will be difficult to lock, as well as not too big to avoid the bracelet moving around too much on your arm.
There are a few things to keep in mind when measuring your ring size. Normally you fingers are less swollen in the morning or when you are cold, and can be more swollen when you are warm or in the evening. Your nuckles can be wider than the actual placement of the ring. The ring shall not fit too tight, neither risk to fall off when you wear it. For delicate, thin ring bands we recommend to go for a size bigger rather than smaller if you are between two sizes, to avoid the ring to hug your finger too tight. If you are between two sizes, always go for the bigger size.
You can measure your ring size in different ways:
- Use a ring sizer to determine your size. Order it for free here.
- Visit a jeweller to have your size measured
